This is my screen saver....

I snapped it with my i-phone in the Montmartre district in Paris. Didn't add or mute the colors. I love the graininess of the photo. This is what I love about France. I can take or leave the ornate palaces and gold gilt of Paris, and even the blues, mustards, and bright reds of Provecal fabrics.

Give me beautiful weathered stone, windblown milk paint colors, and creamy linens blowing in the wind. Luckily those are all also found in France. That's why people interpret "French Style", "French Farmhouse" and even "Paris Apartment" in wildly different manners. You can find it all in France.

We have been working hard all week to make sure all of our 34 ladies who are traveling to Paris and Provence with us in April have proper airline flights. So my mind has been on France, and as I went through some of my pictures from last year, I thought I would share.....

Doesn't the lady in this photo look happy? So I am going to close my eyes and pretend like I am her....just for today.

I'm dreaming of a White Vintage Christmas

Yes, and we are Still dreaming! Once in a blue moon we might have a White Christmas in Texas, but usually it is 50 degrees or higher. Unfortunately when we set up for our December sale, thunderstorms were looming. With our expansive grounds unusable for presentation or cuteness, we ~~crammed~~ merchandised all of the extra inventory in the Shed, and tried to think of a wind and rain worthy Christmas display for the front yard.

Val had a crazy idea to use tomato cages (and a wire dress form) and by the Grace of God, Gigi just happen to have some in her yard. We turned the tomato cages upside down and wired the stakes together,covered them with twinkle lights and yards of tulle to create the illusion of flowing white trees. Added a few interesting weather tolerable objects and Viola!.....

A weather worthy montage that looked as great at night as during the day!

Thanksgiving Turkey Dogs!

Nope, not a post about my love of genetically modified hotdogs, but about the creativity of our own Gigi Ewbank..
A Dallas Thanksgiving tradition is the YMCA Turkey Trot. Huge crowds pour into Dallas early Thanksgiving morning to run a 5K or 8K to earn money for the Y. This year they were also trying to set a record for the most runners dressed like TURKEYS (!?!).

Well, trust a Red Shed Girl, to want to get in on the fun. Cleverly creative Gigi headed to the Dollar Store....

To make sure that Bandit and Scooter (known as "the Boys") didn't miss out on the festivities!

Looks like Mom and Dad had fun too!

French Market Sale Photos

Last month was just a little crazy for us. We took 24 ladies in two back to back trips to shop the wonderful Flea Markets of Provence (more posts to come). The very next week we brought our fabulous French finds home to share with out dear customers at the French Market Sale. We are taking a couple of deep breaths before we dive into Christmas, but here are a few photos from The French Market.

Homes and Hearts of Provence

The most wonderful part of our shopping trips to Provence, is being welcomed into the homes of artists, antique dealers, chefs, journalists, and even bed and breakfast proprietors. Thanks to our friendship with uber awesome guide, Jill Mitchell of LeTrip (and our reputation for bringing the absolute Sweetest and Best Vintage Super Shoppers), our ladies get to experience all of the extremes of Provencal Shopping. The people of Provence are warm and inviting and I would like to introduce you to just a few.

Meet Anne Marie and Hubert...

Hubert's family runs an equestrian farm, and he and Anne Marie are antique dealers in their "retirement". They welcomed us to their home and outbuildings..

What does this look like to you? To us, it looks like Picker Heaven, wrapped around a beautiful Provencal home. Mr. N set out tables in the yard (just for us!) and covered them with French antiques at wonderful prices!

Hubert also makes these fabulous benches and tables out of old vintage beds..

Then he opened up the outbuildings...First picture is the fake...HEY, STOP A SEC, and LOOK UP AND SMILE!! The second picture is the reality of the smash mob that ran in after the door was un padlocked!

They then welcomed us into their lovely home for wine and nibbles..

And Hubert even walked us over to see the family home where he was born and other family members still live..These were two of the kindest, sweetest people we have ever met.

A day or two later in the beautiful village of Lourmarin

we were introduced to the lovely and refined, Regina.

Regina's house has been featured in many magazines and she kindly opened it up to us to tour. All I can say is I was having a hard time breathing, and seriously thought I would faint..(due to my not so secret lace fetish).

Regina is known locally at the "Keeper of the Lace". When families come across unused lace and linen doweries, they will many times arrange for them to go the Regina, because the know that she will catalog, preserve and sell them to good homes. She is an expert in her field, and SHE HAD ME AT HELLO (Bonjour, actually)!

Her home was filled with vintage and antique French linens and lace, used the way that are suppose to be.... Everyday.

Regina's home is called the "House of Soul", and you could really feel it in every step we took, and as she talked about her family.
Regina has a small lace shop attached to her house. No website, not sure if there is even a phone. She has no set hours and opens when she pleases so that her family and lifestyle always comes first.

Thank goodness, she was willing to share this with us. Thank you, Regina for sharing a little of your life with us.

Lisle dur la sorgue Vintage shopping

Bonjour ! Thank you for sharing our little adventure.This morning brought us a surprise from the Antique fairies. We woke and They had dropped an unknown Brocante on our doorstep!

The early bird really does get the worm! Betty, Diane and Sandy were ours. Up bright and early to shop!

A few offerings..

Mid morning found us off to L'isle dur la Sourge, the beautiful riverside island city full or boutiques and antiques. This what we came for!

We walked, we talked and boy did we shop.

Then I took a little break.

And Betty got a new do.

And back to our fave shop in Lisle dur la sorgue for Vintage linen shopping.

More happy ladies . Do You think they are shopped out? Nope! We also went to GORGEOUS Vaucluse. Such a nice way to end the day.

Vintage Lighting, It's all about the Lamps

The first think I do when I arrive at the shop each morning is turn on the lamps and chandeliers.
A lot of people say the quickest way to update a room is with paint. I say it is with lamps. Nothing gives a room instant character, design, or personality like a one of a kind light fixture. There IS a reason they call it mood lighting. I would say that in our shop the lighting falls into four catagories. First is Paris Apartment. This can range from classic chandeliers to Versaille oppulance..

The French Cottage lamps are normally a little more simple, but quirky. A little tassel or fringe. White paint and a fun silk lampshade.....

And thanks to Rachel Ashwell, Shabby is still Chic and its actually a younger generation that is embracing it. We have bewildered moms still stumble in every day and say their teenager wants to do their room or dorm in Shabby Chic. We guide them to just the right thing. Chippy white paint and tole floral iron. Reworked vintage lace and burlap. Open shades adorned with ribbon and crystal..

So turn off those overhead lights and let some shadows dance on your walls.

Before and After the Sale

A few pics from our Sale and Show last weekend. BIG Thanks to all of you who braved the heat to show your appreciation of our hard work, and help us have our BEST August Sale, ever!

There is an old saying that beauty normally doesn't come without some pain, and we certainly can vouch for that. Here are a few behind the scenes, "befores" that helped us achieve the "afters"..

One of our favorite re-do's had to do with this Victorian couch that we had torn down to the frame

We loved the display possibilities and especially the wonderful pink velvet we found under 5 layers of upholstery. Though "she" was Gorgeous and well made, no one seemed to share our enthusiasm to claim the couch as a fix-er-up-er. Sometimes you just have to think out of the box and bite the bullet. In this case, it came in the form of an electric Gatorsaw.
We cut out the springs, which were oh-so-cute, because of the curved edge, (which we wrapped in muslin) and hung them for this darling display...we were so sad to see them go (darn it! that happens when you put a price on them!), because we wanted to display them again as a headboard...

The top part of the couch went onto the wall over some vintage lace...

and the bottom was propped over one of our windows, where the velvet stopped the show..

a definite tribute to the old girl, and now, though in pieces, she will be loved for years to come.

Guaranteed Rain.....We Should Have Had a Sale Sooner!

Why didn't we think of it before? All we needed to do to bring rain to North Texas, was have a Red Shed Sale! Never mind that there hasn't been a hint of a breeze or rain in months. Just let us try to get a little jump on set up by placing our furniture and getting the shade tents up outside and POOF!.... Wind shear and pouring rain in Grapevine!

Have no fear! We have new tents and the Sale will go on...Saturday, Aug 27th 8am.

Flea Market Style Magazine available at Aug 27th Sale!

We just received our shipment of Flea Market Style Magazine, and right on time for our big Sale on Saturday! So don't worry about trying to make an extra trip to Barnes and Noble, just pop on over to the Red Shed!

Shopping the Boot sales in England

Michele and her sister just got back from shopping the "Boot" sales in England. I don't know if I am more jealous of the shopping, or the getting to wear sweaters and jackets!! "Boots" are the trunks of car in the UK. So it is kind of like a garage sale, without the garage or a flea market, without the fleas.

Red Shed has Gone to the Dogs

We admit it, we have gone to the dogs. When it gets so hot in Texas, our brains start whirling and the silliest things crack us up. Admittedly we usually think we are a WHOLE lot funnier than everyone else thinks we are.

So back to the dogs. Yes, we torture our poor little French bulldog mascot, "Red" and dress him for each and every sale and holiday...
We can't resist any great stray dogs. Like this one who found his way into the shop..

A few days ago we were at a great estate sale and Michele found another little stray. A buddy for Red.!.

Immediately, we said, "lets put him in the car, lets put a seat belt on him, lets take pictures of him!"Before we knew it, the people running the estate sale were taking pictures of us taking pictures! Of course MM had a ball driving back to the shop and pulling through drive-thru's, just for fun....

So not exactly what you would expect to see at the Red Shed....but we added a little vintage lingerie on his head....

because who hasn't had their dog chew on their underwear??... Then we found this TO DIE FOR "Beware of Dog" Fence...

Hmm, I feel a theme coming on... And it is true...We have absolutely gone to the Dogs......

And maybe to the cats a little bit too...

Where Real Women Create

I was knee deep into a project last week when I literally put down my scissors and started giggling and taking pictures..... I was thinking about the blogs I had been reading and viewing and women talking about a magazine they just loved called "Where Women Create". It is absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful women and inspiring spaces.
But I have a little tiny house, and no studio. I create at my kitchen table. I have to spread everything out so that I can see what materials I have and stimulate my imagination....
I compete with the cat.......And the cat food......(on the table so the dog won't eat it)....My computer is shoved to one side so I can check emails, or in case the travel agency needs to forward phone calls to me.......
Of course, if they do, my phone is buried and it's likely that I won't be able to find it.....
Sometimes, I run out of room on the table, so it continues onto the floor...
My "space's" one redeeming virtue is a lucky view, out of the very dirty windows, of the creek in my back yard, offering precious distractions of ducks, herons, turtles, owls, various song birds, squirrels, deer, and the transient raccoon.....
Then the whole mess is cleaned up and put away each night, because my DH is a "neatnik" and could not possibly go to sleep with the kitchen in "chaos".

So here is what I created last Wednesday amid the chaos......
These are huge 200 year old crystals that I purchase each year at the Paris Flea Market. (to see me buying the crystals, click HERE) Each one is about 6 inches long and 4 inches wide. There is NO WAY that new crystals have the look, feel or weight of these beauties. I fuse 100 year old French documents to the back so that it shows through the front, and a different one on the reverse side, which is then covered with several layers of a clear glass like resin. The crystal is then reversible. I wire on a loop and add a vintage seam binding cord. I can only make 10 or 12 a year because I only have access to that many crystals. They sell immediately and I'm not really sure what people do with them. They look fabulous hanging in a window, from a mirror or on a lamp shade.

This one has a French perfume company check on one side........$45And a French postcard on the other. Look closely for the child playing in his mother's dress form...

This soft pink is from the front of a 1898 French legal document....$45The back is a vintage French postcard with puppies chasing a frog...

This is my favorite. The front is a French postcard with an angel painting from the Louvre.. $45 SOLD
The back is an old French letter........This crystal is almost 3/4 of and inch thick, look at all the bevels!

This last one is almost small enough to be worn as a necklace. The front and back are from a French Postcard...$35 SOLD
All are now residing among vintage French lingerie, at the Red Shed, until they go their new homes.
Oh, I also made these darling magnet-clips the same day.....also currently at the Shed.

So, I didn't do too bad among the "chaos". Now, you tell the truth......Where do YOU create???

Baby Boomers Return! ala Grace

The 4th of July is almost upon us. We were so tickled when Grace brought in a few more hand made "Baby Boomers"! They are darling adorning flowers, on a cake, or even on their own! Made from vintage baby cutouts, real ribbon (in her hair)............

hand glittered, rouged and tinseled, with a banner that says "Happy 4th of July!" . They are just $19.95 and easily mailed. Sorry SOLD OUT

Creativity from forced House Arrest

Have you ever had one of those forced "vacations" due to a health issue? Whether it is the flu, an injury or recuperation from the nasty stuff the medical profession can throw at you....., did you imagine that you would get SO MUCH ACCOMPLISHED while you were at luxuriating at home? No driving, no work, no chores, no church... Just one thing. I always forget about the pain medicine, the lack of a comfortable position, always needing "easy access" to a bathroom, that groggy feeling that doesn't let you do anything besides watch daytime TV? UHHGG Daytime TV.
I'm not going to Sue anybody, there is no way I am going to give up my life to Extreme Coupon, and if my daughter has a Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, just hide me under the dress and sneak me into another country!
After a recent 6 days of this kind of fun, mixed with nonstop togetherness with my recently retired husband, I was ready to sue the next gypsy I met in a grocery store. I convinced my DH that I would be fine by myself for a day, brushed my teeth and my hair (are you suppose to do that Every day?) and snuck (sneaked?) out to my car, or as I like to call it, my Rolling Studio, and grabbed some supplies.....

I always have a big bag of Lace in my car (see "Lace Snob" post) and recently purchased a wonderful supply of French lace...

I knew exactly what I wanted to do, I had thrown two old lamps into the car also. All I needed was the lace and the lampshades for an easy to do project while I while not missing any of my new fave programs.....

Look at the great shadows dancing on the walls....

AAhhhh, now I feel better!

Before and After or "You always find a cutest things!" Part 2

It's been a while since we played a little "before & after" . We love it when people come in the shop and say ''You ALWAYS find the cutest things!"I still think we need to put the "before" pic on all the price tags! So here are a few transformations from our recent French Market Sale...

We will buy a church bench, every time we see one! Too versitale! You can pull them up to a dining table, use at the foot of your bed, or leave outside on your porch.

We added casters to the bottom of the wood boxes to make wonderful, moveable flower boxes or coffee tables.

This was my first attempt at molding a new applique (see the missing part on the top left?)

A little hard to tell in this pic, but it turned out pretty well!

Free standing mirrors are always hard to find, so I snapped this one up at a garage sale.....


(BTW we will soon have more of the French Belt Flower Baskets ,above, that you went CRAZY over!)

We fell in love with these scrolly chairs at Round Top.


They were not quite upholstered yet, but still heart stopping! The funnest thing about these chairs is they have wheels only on the front legs, to make them easy to scoot in, but still stable.

Loved the French lines on this petite desk, but it had a leather top that had seen better days..


A new, sophisticated look helped it quickly find a new home.

Thank goodness for "Vintage Girls" . That's what I call teens and twenties that are decorating their rooms, dorms, or first apartments in "Paris Apartment Chic". First on the list is Always a dreamy vanity... Would you have guessed that the above would turn out like this?......

Wonderful bakelite handles and triple mirror added even more glam!

Don't you think it is SO FUN to take something headed for the dumpster and give it a new life?

We have a winner! Thanks to everyone who entered our Paris Blog Contest! We really appreciated all of the wonderful comments! The winner was selected by a very complicated process, I saw on another blog:

I printed all the comments (with additional for blog posts and referrals) and cut them into little strips, then, just so there would be no funny business, had my husband, who has never read a blog in his life, draw the winner.

Sunday in Paris

We focus so much on the vintage shopping in Paris, that it is easy to overlook that it is one of the most beautiful and historical cities in the world! I mentioned to sweet Kim S. on the trip that I had wanted to go to the Sunday night concert at St. Chapelle Cathedral for years, and it had never worked out. It is one of my favorite churches in Paris....words can't describe how gorgeous...
That afternoon, Kim called and said she had gotten tickets to the concert (found out she had to wait in line for quite a while!) and we were going! I wanted to share this little bit of heaven in Paris..

The arch over the violinist is covered with angels, and when you closed your eyes, it was easy to imagine you were in Heaven...When we left....already floating on clouds, we were greeted by this sight...

Truly one of the most memorable nights of my life....Thanks Kim!

Our favorite day of the year is a day at the Vanves Flea Market on the outskirts of Paris. This market literally makes your (us!) heart race and adrenaline run rampant!

Nothing is better than buying out of the back of French Vans and cars!

Once again we see interesting, fun, and unique treasures that you Never see in the States!

We have seen Circus displays, but never like this!

Love this red velvet record player!

These poodles were 150e each! (I can't remember why they were so "precious"!)

One of my favorite items was this amazing umbrella! The handle was made of porcelain!

We had an absolutely perfect day with fabulous weather. Our French friends were makin' deals....Life is good!

Our adventure at the Paris Flea Market Continues!

The Paris Flea Market. Marche Aux Puces. Saint Ouen. Clignancourt. What do all these words have in common? Actually they all are the same thing! Marche Aux Puces , or the Paris Flea Market is one of the oldest and largest flea markets in the World! Saint Ouen, and Clignancourt are the names of the subway stations and areas that border the market. You just never know what you will experience... You definitely find things you never see in the states. You also tend to see trends many years before they reach the states. Colors, Textures, Really Interesting displays. Here are just a few from our day at the Puces...

Marche Aux Puces Saint Ouen, is actually made of many, many markets, or villages each with it's own feel and type of treasures. You could never get to them all in one day, so it's good to know ahead of time which ones will fit your lifestyle. We hire a local Shopping Guide each year and BELIEVE me she is worth her weight in GOLD. She saves us hours by always knowing which market to go to for vintage purses, and which for linens and jewelry. She saves us $$s with her fabulous personality and negotiating skills!
A definite trend we saw this year was industrial mixed with old world architectural

Probably one of the oddest trends we saw was airplane industrial. Take a look at this coffee table, made from an airplane wing..

And this entire shop was made from aviation parts! Did anyone see this trend at Round Top/ Warrenton? It will be interesting to see if it makes it's way into the states...

European Shopping Trip to Paris Day 2

We had a good night's rest and today's itinerary includes a walking tour of some of the beautiful gardens and churches of Paris.

Our lovely guide, Eugenie, (middle in shearling) shared the history of Luxemburg gardens, one of my favs, and here are just a few reasons why...

Then to churches St Suplice & St Germain, the oldest church in Paris .. Almost 900 years old!

The rest of the day was spent shopping and strolling among the book and vintage sellers or "bouquiniste" on the banks of the Seine.

Could there be better scenery for shopping?

A lovely dinner in a beautiful restaurant, and these tired puppies are going sleep with smiles on our faces(but not on our feet!)

We did manage a quick weekend to the Warrenton and Round Top antique shows. We rented our "dream car" (above), and headed out. It was so great to see our dear friends who display there. Especially Theresa Cano of Garden Antqs Vintage, Deb York of Talkin Trash, and Melody and John of the Seed Box. Here are just a few fun things that we saw along the way...

I think I have finally run out of adjectives (gorgeous, fabulous, lovely, unbelievable) to describe the artistry of Grace Barzyz. She just brought her Easter Collection into the Red Shed, and it knocked my socks off.
First is this beautiful palm cross, patterned after the real palm leaf crosses Grace's Italian family used to make after Easter services. Wonderful detail with vintage millinery, and handmade paper lily...

Italian Eggs are made from original vintage postcards, Italian tatted lace and embellished with vintage millinery and Swarovski crystals...

Love, Love, Love these darling little eggs, embellished with vintage letters, I just LOVE the gorgeous texture and perfect colors...

Boy, we have been so busy since the first of the year, we haven't even had a chance to toot our own horn! Our Paris Flea Market Shopping Trips were featured in the new addition of Flea Market Style magazine...Page 11.
Here is the funny part.. The article was suppose to look like this:But when it came from the printer it looked like this: See all those words above that were under "Caution"? Well they just disappeared! What makes it worse, is they were MY WORDS! and pretty clever, if I say so myself. The sad part is I don't have many clever moments.....
If you came to our last sale, maybe you recognize the girl in the top right hand corner. That's GiGi Ewbank, a good friend and hard core Red Shed Girl shopping with us in Paris (she has been with us THREE times!) Also, the photo below her was taken by Tamra Novak, who is a fabulous jewelry designer and also went to Paris with us. The other top left photo was taken by "Moi", so I guess that means I'm a published photographer also, right?

Taming "The Beast"

From the first time I set eyes on it, I knew it would be trouble....In fact I left it behind and went home. But a week later, it was still calling to me...

7 feet tall and 5 feet wide....it's owner handed me a bag and said "I have all the pieces".....

How would I move it? (Gotta have a Big truck...Gotta try not to break it...) Where would I put it while I tried to fix it? It has to lay flat to be repaired, and Way too big to do it inside.

But the size, the intricate hand carving and wonderfully aged mirror won out over plain old common sense.

Thanks to my DH and the Grace of God, it arrived unbroken. We laid it on a large iron table and began the reconstruction....It was like a puzzle....

Got the glue, the nails and the clamps....

But it all took a lot longer than planned....and as the night wore on, finally I started priming....

But it ate primer, and all those edges, and leaves, and swirls.....ugg....

Finally stopped for the night, but we had to keep going to get it done before any rain. Michele picked up the next evening and started the first coat of paint....Michele called crying saying she had named it "The Beast" and that it was eating paint.....rain was on the horizon so we had to bring it in.

Propped on blankets for protection the last coats of paint and antiquing had to be done with "The Beast" standing up. I was literally laying on the floor....But oh.....the results..

The Beast is now going to be the Grand Dame of our upcoming show. Now the only questions are....how the heck to hang it and how much to ask? What do you think?

Channeling Miss Mustard Seed

While basking in the great ice-in of 2011, I came across a great blog called Miss Mustard Seed. Marion shares fabulous tutorials on refinishing furniture, so I was quickly hooked! Turned out she was just about to have a contest called "Copy Me". I love it! One of her tutorials was a finish for a French chair. I loved the colors and textures and I just "happened" to have a french chair in the back of my car....

So I pulled the boots on and grabbed the chair....

I followed her instructions found HERE

And this is the result! I didn't have fabric to try to brave the slipcover (even if I could have gotten out, remember I live in Gun Barrel City, and the selection is "not that great" at Walmart). It's hard to tell in this photo, but....

There are great layers of color and texture within the finish. The entire chair is a fabulous French Blue-Gray that I have been trying to achieve for years, so Thanks, Marion!

I also tried her "secret recipe" for antiquing. I have my own secret recipe, but I'm always willing to try something new....

But what I really think.....

Red Shed Girl Iced In and goin a bit crazy.....

We don't get frozen into our homes in Texas very often, but this week is an exception! Our streets are solid ice and it has been so cold, it hasn't melted at all. School has been canceled all week, and I have been going just a bit stir crazy. So what does a Red Shed Girl do besides catching up on the blog-o-sphere? My choices were somewhat limited because it's too cold to paint in my garage, and I left my jewelry making supplies at the shop. So I am working with what I've got here....I am afraid I will soon be trying to figure out how to craft with cat hair.

Michele handed me a vintage velvet candy box the other day and said "do something with this"... So here we go... All vintage French papers and cards, including French love letters and angel graphics. Edged with vintage chenille..

This cross is dripping with vintage pearls & jewelry. I added more chenille on the edge and antique French book pages on the back...

I added about 10 items (including those above, since we can't get into the shop) to our ETSY Store : OhPardonMyFrench

Altered a couple of little candles with French love letters (getting the idea of what I have at home? paper & chenille...)

Made some Paris tags for a project, unfortunately the rest of the pieces are iced in at the shop..

and dozens of burlap roses for a project to be determined later...a perfect cold day activity, except my kitchen, computer, and person are now covered in burlap dust and threads.........

I so love where I live, out in the country. So much so, that I drive 1 1/2 to 2 hours , one way, to get to the shop in Grapevine. But.... have you ever heard that there are things that go on in small towns that your really shouldn't see...or talk about? Well, I am breaking the silence. I walked into a local shop the other day and came across this.....
Seriously? Don't mean to hurt any feelings and hope to heck that no one from Gun Barrel reads the blog (Lezlee...shhhh!) but really, a vanity and dresser with such cute lines, sponge painted in camouflage?
Oh well, I know a lot of "vintage" ladies who don't like it when I paint wood white.
Ok, so a few new additions at The Shed....and who knows.....
Maybe some people will be sneaking pictures and making fun of us!!

Girls Gone Junkin in Canton

It's always fun to get a quick trip to Canton First Monday Trade Days in. I think because of New Years everyone forgot it was Canton weekend. The weather was Gorgeous and crowds were small. Yee Haw! So normally when you go to Canton, this is what you expect to see....
Imagine my surprise when I walked into a little metal building at the flea market and found this....
You see...this story isn't about the Red Shed Girls....going junkin'.....but literally about "Girls Gone Junkin" The Shop, The Ladies, The Legends!
I actually made an effort to search out these talented gals, because I had heard about their darling shop, and periodically they even read this blog, but I was not prepared for HOW talented, and HOW darling..... a few more pics...

Provence Antique Vintage Shopping Trip Day 6

We woke up to beautiful blue skies and mild weather, Perfect for our visit to the beautiful fishing village of Cassis, perched directly over the azure Mediterranean Sea. Another market was underway, but we dragged the girls away for a boat ride to visit the famous calanque cliffs of Cassis.
Kathy and Linda in their too cute hats...

Kelly, Nancy, Kathy & Joan, and revel in the majesty of the scenery featured in many a James Bond movie...

Michele has here eye on some other French scenery, the captain of the boat.....

After the boat ride, Jill has arranged for us to have a soap making demonstration....

I have never seen such beautiful and great smelling soaps.....
After a lovely lunch by the sea...........

We visit the Clos Sainte Madeleine Winery, perched on the mountain overlooking the sea...

These are VERY happy grapes....and why wouldn't they be...

With a view like this...................

Cheers to a perfect trip of a life time. After a delicious farewell dinner, tomorrow we return to the states, having tasted the beauty of France and all She has to offer.

Provence Antique Shopping Tour Days 5

Day 5 our our Provencal adventure in Aix en Provence was a free day to explore the flea markets, wander the historical lanes, visit museums and determine if we needed to ship some packages back if we had bought too much (we did). We found our way back to the markets and my favorite purchase of the day was for this fabulous antique, beaded bridal crown (displayed by the vendor).

In the afternoon we were treated to a private tour of the Liquoristerie de Provence, which reintroduced the production and consumption of Absynthe and other regional apertifs to France.

The shop was just beautiful...

And the tour of the spotless distilling and maceration facility was just fascinating...Perfume is also made there...

Just for fun, and because she now knows us so well, our guide, Jill, invites one of her friends and pickers, Bernard, to bring his van full of French vintage baubles for sale, to the parking lot of the liqueristerie....mayhem ensued...as 12 American women descended upon him and his wares...

Several of the ladies picked up bread, olives and cheese from today's market and had hotel room picnics for dinner as we began our pre-packing and got ready for the treats of tomorrow..
A few of today's treasures that will be available to our customers at our sale on October 30th.
