Ki's Bachman's Idea House and Paris Preview

We are SO behind on some blogs! It is sad how work, and church, and kids and husbands can keep you from your computer! A couple of weeks ago we were in Minnesota to help with some heavy duty planning for The Creative Connection Event, and we just had to visit our favorite friend Miss Ki, of Junk Bonanza and Flea Market Style Magazine fame (she would hate the "fame" part). She was knee deep in getting her "Idea House" ready for Bachman's Garden & Gifts. Bachman's is a huge Garden Center like NO OTHER (except there are several Bachman's in Minnesota). In their brilliance, they decide to hire KI to bring "Vintage" into the centers, and you cannot imaging how fun it is to visit... Think flea market meets Anthropology. On the grounds of the main store there is an old 1920's house, and every season Ki and her crew, recreate the house with hundreds of re-purposed and re-envisioned vintage treasures used in fresh and useful ways.
We had a little pre-tour, before it opened which was fun to see the beginnings. This was an old teeter totter being made into a sofa table
Old coke bottles, heated and flattened into drip plates...
Here is a couple of before and afters...we took the before's then got the afters from Ki's Blog

There was tons of darling ideas......Visit Ki's blog to see more! (Thanks to Lezlee at Prior Lives Blog, for referring us to Linda's Blog which has photos of every single room of the idea house!)

Do you check out Linda's blog,http://itsy-bits-and-pieces.blogspot.com/2010/06/bachmans-spring-ideas-house-part-four.html. She has three or four post showing the whole house done, in detail. Hope your sale goes great! Lezlee
