You Always find the Cutest Things!

Miss Mustard Seed, Let's Copy a Tutorial!.....

How many times a day to we hear that at the Red Shed? Usually we just smile and say "Thank You, we're glad you like them!" But the actual truth is, whether vintage, antique, or JunK, we usually don't find cute things, we CREATE them.

The desk vanity below was a thrift store find. If was plain wood (of course, forgot the "before" photo") After priming and painting, it is a flat white. Actually, it is hard to photograph but it is not really a flat white, but several shades of white, layered.

Antiquing medium is added around all the interesting details.......

It gets pretty messy.........better to wear gloves.....

Then we start wiping it off, just wipe and wipe until it gets "just right".....

It really makes the details "Pop"...
The finished piece has depth and character. Some cute paper in the inside drawers and it will be ready for a new home....

Here is another piece that was created with the same technique. This is actually a plastic mirror that used to be gold. Look how GREAT it looks! And the best part is the price! Only $48.00! Put it on a high wall and people will think it costs hundreds!
