I have wanted to visit the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena, California, since our sweet friend, Ki of Junk Market Style, told us about how fabulous it is. This was confirmed by another friend, so when my DH said that he wanted to visit Santa Anita, I whipped out a map and said "Only if it is the weekend of Rose Bowl Flea Market, and you will let me take two empty suitcases!" A Red Shed Girl never misses an opportunity to SHOP!

Point me towards Paris
Usually the hardest part of making a window sign, is the prep of scraping, taping, prepping and repainting an old window. When I find one in "not too bad shape" it makes me say "Yes!!" It can make a project like this, go just a little faster.
I found this great old cabinet front. Perfect wavy glass. Beautiful molding.

White Slipcovered Sofa and other Dirty Little Secrets
I love, love, love slipcovered furniture. They look so great in the magazines, but is reality as great as the fantasy? I have a white slipcoved denim couch (below) in my kitchen (yes, kitchen). I have pets so I am SO THANKFUL that I can wash it. The slip, however being denim, it is VERY heavy, and I usually have to take it to the laundry mat (sp?) to use the industrial machines, and it can still take up to 4 hours to wash and dry all the pieces. I usually only do it twice a year unless there is emergency spillage (yes, I am talking red koolaid). Then I normally, 1. Scream at the perpetrator 2. Rip off the cover, 3. Throw it in the bathtub with a lot of hot water and bleach, 4. Step on it with my feet like I am squishing grapes to make wine, then 5. Figure out how to get it from the tub to the dryer.

The French Market at Red Shed Antiques, Grapevine Texas
Welcome to The French Market at Red Shed French Antiques & Travel. Our shop is located in Grapevine, Texas and we are open every Monday - Saturday, but right after we return from shopping trips to Paris & Provence, we celebrate by holding a French Market Sale. Enjoy photos from the French Market held last weekend on June 2nd.
Paris Flea Market Treasures at The French Market
Inside the French Market the treasures unfold. We shopped for three weeks, with three groups of lovely ladies at the flea markets in Paris and Provence. Inside the French Market tents, only authentic French vintage and antiques are allowed. All of the antique French canning jars have gone to new homes, but if you see something that interests you, call us to see if it still might be available! 817-310-6006
The Cottage at The French Market
Red Shed French Antiques & Travel in Grapevine is actually two buildings, The Shed and The Cottage. Here is a view of the displays in The Cottage during the French Market. If you see something that interests you, give us a call to see if it is still available at 817-310-6006
The Gardens at The French Market
Fabulous French finds spill into the Gardens of the Red Shed during our French Market. The welcomed Spring rains have turned our gardens into a green paradise!
The Harvest Table at The French Market
This table has a story. We had it tarped during the ferocious thunderstorms prior to the sale. The next day, we found the tarp had leaked and the heat had bubbled all the paint on the table! Dear friend and Red Shed contributer, Gayle Christensen, ran home to get her belt sander. Our tears turned to laughter as we loved the sanded look!
Wall of Portrait Paintings at The French Market
Michele found this stash of portrait paintings at an estate sale a few months ago. We are great sleuths and we tracked down the artist who had won tons of awards. She had many French themed portraits (We love the little French artist in the bottom right corner!) and lots of shoes and clothing from Paris...
